Into White, 2015
The photographs in this series depict my experience of the journey I took on a sailboat into the Arctic Circle. The landscape, completely novel to my eyes, freed all preconception and allowed intuition to take over. The journey lasted a mere two weeks but left a lasting imprint on my memory.
These images reflect my open wonderment at an area of the world that is vanishing. “Into White” is a description of my physical journey; traveling from the southern region of the Svalbard Archipelago and slowly making my way north into an increasingly white landscape with walruses, glaciers, ruins and remarkable ice.
